BACKGROUND:
Veronica was born in St. Petersburg, Florida but was raised in Tallahassee, where she graduated from the Florida State University High School in 2001. From there, she pursued her bachelor's degree in communication and political science at the Florida State University. Continuing the Florida State University educational tradition, she then attended the Florida State University College of Law and graduated in 2008. She was a member of the Student Bar Association and the Spanish American Law Student Association.
Beginning in her second year of law school, Veronica began work as a law clerk in another state-wide law firm. There she began working in the field of Administrative and Regulatory Law. As the daughter of Edwin A. Bayó, she grew up around these two particular areas of law. Since she was a child, Veronica began attending Board meetings for the various professional regulatory boards her father represented as Senior Assistant Attorney General. These experiences made pursuing Administrative and Regulatory Law a natural choice. In addition, Veronica conducted legislative research, analysis, and bill tracking in the area health care regulation.
Veronica joined the law firm of Grossman, Furlow, & Bayó at its inception in 2008 and became an Associate shortly thereafter. Her current practice includes the representation of professional licensees and regulated entities before their regulatory boards, including the boards of Pharmacy, Chiropractic Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary Medicine. She has also prepared a number of continuing education course materials in the area of laws and rules for engineers, dentists, and veterinarians. In addition, she has developed materials in Florida physician fee-splitting and self-referral restrictions, issues in pharmacy waste disposal, the pharmacist's duty to warn and counsel, and the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
